What this site is
ShopTech Tools is a software discovery and comparison publication. We write guides, reviews and head-to-head comparisons for people who have to make a software decision and would rather not spend three evenings reading vendor marketing pages to make it.
The publication is operated by ShopTechSystems, a technology-focused company, and published at shoptechsystems.online. ShopTech Tools has its own editorial identity and its own editorial policy.
Who we write for
Small businesses, entrepreneurs, agencies, developers and professionals — mostly in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia, and elsewhere in the English-speaking world. That audience shapes what we cover: tools a team of two to fifty people can actually buy and run, rather than enterprise platforms that require a procurement process.
How we work
We research software the way a careful buyer does. We read the product documentation, work through pricing pages, map features onto real workflows, and look for the constraints that only show up after you commit — seat minimums, usage caps, renewal pricing, migration friction.
Where we have not used a product day to day, we do not claim to have. You will not find invented hands-on testing, fabricated customer quotes or made-up benchmark results on this site. What you will find is a clear account of what each product is structurally good at, who it suits, and who should look elsewhere.
Our editorial policy sets out the method in detail, including how we handle pricing, how ratings are assigned, and how to request a correction.
How we are funded
Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. That is a real commercial interest, and the honest response is to disclose it on every page that carries one rather than to claim a neutrality the business model does not support.
What commissions do not do is decide our recommendations or scores. Several products we rate highly have no affiliate program at all, and they are covered on the same terms as the ones that do. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
What we do not do
- We do not publish paid reviews or accept payment for a positive rating.
- We do not invent staff, credentials, awards, partnerships or traffic numbers.
- We do not publish user-review aggregate scores we did not collect.
- We do not publish specific pricing figures we have not verified — unverified prices are marked so you know to check them.
